my sierra is running bog stock shoes. brother in law has a set of 31's i can get for free. just wondering what is the maximum width tyre ypu can put on without being dodgy?

How wide?

I think a 9.5 would be doable, but certainly pushing it! I wouldn't drive it at speed or corner hard like that though. You'd struggle to find a tyre place who put them on and balance them.

A 235 is a little over 9" wide. Its mostly seen as the largest acceptable tyre for a 5.5" wide rim. ( as judged by the AZ community). Tyre manufacturers would limit fitment to a 215 for the stock rims.

If you can find a 9.5" wide 31, you COULD fit them, but most tyre shops just won't do it.

Pick up some second hand 15x7's IMO.

Have a look at gumtree or keep an eye out on here
