my mate bought a 2" body lift from fat zook with the blocks in he cant get 2nd 4th or revers gear as it seems to be fouling on the body has any one done a body lift in one of there before? Dose the shifter need to be heated and bent? the zook is a lwb hard top ute 1982 with all std running gear we were under the impression the kit was a straight bolt in kit my body lift I put in my lwb 86 soft top bolted straight up never had any problems with the shifter

The kit is a bolt in fit... It bolted in didn't it?
Most Sierras need the front and back of the gearshift hole in the floor enlarged by 5mm or so.

My 1.0 LWB needed the transfer and gearstick holes made a bit larger, to stop foulings, after my home made body lift

Try it without the boot, if it gets all the gears Trim the steel ring around the boot, this should let it flex enough to get all the gears.
All body/chassis are different and the way interact too. The make of the kit wont change this, it's just a body lift thing.
Did he send Pete a message or call him before you posted this up.
Here's a good hint to everyone who buys something that doesn't fit straight up, call the supplier we're happy to help out.

I did speak to Jimbo today, but not regarding this.
Given that this is such a common issue with ALL body lifts, not just for sierras, and that there is no way to solve it with 'bolt in' parts, I just assumed that people would deal with this issue, should it occur. I will ammend my fitting instructions to outline this potential issue. Unfortunately there is nothing that I can do as a seller to correct it though.

this wasnt a issue for pete to worry about as its not the fault of the kit just seeing what others have done to corect the problem with the shifter

we finished fitting it today, Pete the kit you sent looks to be a 1.3 swb with a few extra block added we made up some extra rubber pads to take up the space where the female bolts ouldnt screw up all the way my mate didnt want to mod the kit. and the instructions sent with the kit also said it was to suit a swb?? as for the shifter we bent itin a "S" to suit with the oxy so it clears the floor and dosent hit the dash when in first seems to work ok.

Yeah instructions are the same. The female bolts you recieved are a fair bit shorter than the 1.3L bolts.
