Hey guys, I am going to be purchasing a new set of tyres for my Sierra soon and was wanting to get peoples options on what they like and what they don't.
Most of the driving I do is to and from work and the new set will most likely been for weekend play. Most of my offroad driving is mud and sand.

The tyre size I am after is 30x9.5x15 MT as thats what I already have and don't need to go any bigger. I have been doing a bit of searching around.
I have been leaning towards the older type Maxxis Bighorns as I know few people who have run them and like them, although I have herd that the newer type are a better tyre?
Open to all options but don't want to be paying and more than $350 a tyre.

I haven't looked into those that much but they are an option. Like I said though I am open to any brands of MT tyres not just Maxxis.
I would like to get peoples thoughts on what they like and what works well in mud.

Well i have changed my thoughts about getting Goodyear Duratrac's, to bloody expensive at $385 per tyre...

I have discovered Falken Tyres, never heard of them before, but they are an Aussie company... looking at the WILD PEAK A/T01, it looks more like a mild MT... check them out here -

Ok so I have a set on bfg km1 31/10.5r15 on my Serria And I wanna get a set of 33/12.5r15. So my question is what are some good agresive tyres out there. And what are the pros and cons.

Simex centipede- good in mud
Super swamper tsl- good in mud and rocks
Super swamper bogger- good in mud
Super swamper irok? Great tyre in everything im led to believe
And so on and so forth...

Simex jungle trekker 2's are also awesome. Smallest is a 31/9.5 16 though n they measure bigger than that. My 33/11.5s measure 34"

I got Federal couragia m/t in a 30inch. Set me back 220 a tyre, havent tried them olffroad yet but on road they seem fine. Look promising with nice open tread pattern.

one of the reasons I chose that size came from reading yours and others comments on height vs width in the effectiveness of a tyre, ie a longer footprint on the ground is more effective than a fatter shorter one

Just my 2 cents.

I have bighorns (235/75)
cannot fault them, there quiet on sierras, they clean out really well, they bag nice, heaps of traction offroad (mud, gravel, rocks, sand), more then adequate onroad performance, really solid side wall and there pretty cheap if you know where to look. i payed 210 each fitted and balanced.

X2 one of my mates has this same size tire on his sierra ute and it drives up terrain that more extreme tires struggle to stick on whilst also offering great on road manners.

they were quite sticky on wet rock

both sets of tyres i run having siping... the KL71 grip best out of the two, and they've got more siping:

Yep buckshots have knack all siping the old bfg's which these look like had none, they'd be fine at $155 for a 31" tyre.

They'd be no good for sebastion loeb and ross dunkerton, i mean alien and macdaddy :lol:
