Not a 15, but 215/85r16 is nice and skinny and not much smaller than a 31.

Basically, no. Not unless you consider 9.5" skinny.

You'd be better off sourcing a 16" rim and wacking a 7.50x16 on it. 7.50x16s almost always measure 31" and are very cheap and easy to get.

Just stick a 31 on the standard rim, it'll be alright for a spare

Most 7.50/16s are between 808 and 812 mm, closer to 32". only option on a 15 might be a 700/15 which would be a gay, uber heavy truck tyre.

Most of the ones I've measured were barely even 31s, though they were old and worn.

I had a 650x16 truck retread on an LJ rim (measured 28.5x6 and weighed about as much as my 30x9.5 km2s on 15x7s) on the tailgate of my SJ40 for about 2 weeks before substantial cracks formed on both the tub and the tailgate. :(

7.00R16 / 700-16 is the perfect size to match a 31" tyre. Just find a 16x4.5" LJ/Stockman rim for it. Try and find on with the lowest load/ply rating to save weight too.

I have 2 sets of 7.50/16s here (none on rims which would lower them slightly) the Dunlop Road Grippers measure 32.25", have done about 20000km and the Insa Turbos measure 32.75 (retreads) and have done about 1500 HARD LJ kms. Measured the circumferences.

If you're using it as a spare, and only a spare to get you out of a situation
when you need a spare tyre an inch in diametre won't be a big concern.

Good info guys! I wanted to find something skinny to put on the back door of the hard top seeing as the bigger spare wants to kinda make the door come off... Welling coming off anyway
