Yes it does but sounds like shit with stock muffler and the motor bogs down when you hit the limiter

I've never revved past redline. I must be a wuss.

I'm sure Bugsta can tell us where the limiter chimes in on a VVT Jimny

6900rpm on a VVT jimny i'm 98% sure! I have only hit limiter once on a big dune. That last day Drew had his m13a he held it on limiter for about 5 seconds just to be sure it was 6900

There's no need to be afraid of the limiter - it's there to protect the motor from damage, not a sign it's about to explode.

On greasy climbs it's not uncommon for us to bounce off the limiter from time to time.

I bounced off the rev limiter all the way up a slippery slope yesterday, must have been for a minute or more. Got committed in first low when second probably would have been OK. Stalled out in second on an earlier climb so picked first on this one. Was not travelling very fast but the wheels sure must have been spinning! It worked anyway, I got up there and the engine is still running. I agree with others above that the limiter is there to prevent damage and nothing to be concerned about.
