Before you all leap down my throat..I have searched and got nowhere in a long time...I need to replace the stuffed seats in a swb.. What have other people done..I know the mountings can be a bugger for some seats, I have seen the TSOR brackets which may be needed. Just on the off chance would a pair of subi wrx seats fit..Cheers in advance

Why does everyone get excited by WRX seats? They're no better than average at best. It's certainly not hard to find better seats at a wrecker. I recently pulled a pair of seats from a mid 90's MX6 that are HEAPS better than WRX seats. They don't have the hektik shoulder support and belt slots though, so it would be impossible to pull chicks with them... or something
Anyways, I'd be using the TSOR bases and working off them. At least you'd know for certain you were building off of a strong, level, square base.
WRX seats won't easily go onto the TSOR bases as they don't have a flat 4 bolt mounting face. I guess anything is possible if you are willing to grind rivets out of runners etc, but as the seats themselves are pretty average and command a price premium I don't think I'd bother.

with all the shit that has been bolted to my car, that was the best "non performance" mod i've done to the vitara.

Ergonomics are massively overlooked. People drop $$$$ into their car but will disregard the stuff they use to control it - seats, pedal placement, steering wheel depth, angle and diameter.
I actually think power steering is an ergonomic upgrade as well. I can drive my car for much longer in comfort now I have power steer.
When we were selling my STi, I took the SP-G Recaro I had in it out. After a short drive in the stock seat I thought it was OK and wondered if I was being a bit harsh on WRX seats... then I took it for a longer drive and remembered why the stock WRX seat was only in the car a week when I bought it before the recaro went in.
Anyway, sorry for the hijack.
Steve.

I fit Recaros to all my cars. My patrol, Hilux, 2 sierras, my ute have all had Recaros. I couldn't give a shit how much they cost. They are worth every cent, and if you look after them, they fetch GOOD money second hand.
Go scour some jap import yards. They sometimes get recaros, but at the very least, they will have some seats from jap import sports cars, and luxury saloons. Some of the best seats you can get.

But I may be able to get some pics of the adapters I made. So simple you'll be speachless. I have to make a new set for my ute, so I may be convinced to make another set at the same time. I'll try and get some pics on Monday ( they are currently on loan )
