Is this for a road rego'd vehicle?
Probably best to run these questions past a liscenced LPG installer, as there will be specific criteria that it must met to satisfy RTA requirements. Also you will need a gas certificate ( well, we do up in QLD) and this would require the signature of an authorised person.
As for the LROR kit, I have no info for you.

Hey i shoudve specified nah the sierra will be on a trailer so im not worried about getting it certified or anything like that the kit ive bought hooks straight up to forklift bottles but i may change that to a normal car gas tank so its easier to fill up at the bowser. I just basically would like some info off anyone that has run it before if theres any tricks or troubles to watch out for...

There will be dozens of zooks running the 'got propane' kits over there. And they had factory TBI, so it should lead to some fairly accurate info for ya.

i have a got propane kit in my sierra buggy, so offroad only. the kits dont comply with whatever is needed for roads here. i bought the kit 2nd hand but near new off matt white after TT when he went v6 and i love it. ripped off my old carby, blocked a few lines and had this running in under 45 minutes minus some coolant lines.
it is fool proof, havent put a spanner to it to change any adjustments, and it went from a rough running engine with the 4k carb it had to idling smooth as and running sweet. it runs sweet all day and at the time was simplest for me for not wanting to go efi etc.
i have a few fork bottles, and they all have fittings in them for the servo but isnt meant to be done.its cheaper that way but still not dear at elgas etc. i last a full weekend on one bottle every time.
pirate and gotpropane.com has info on many sierras that run this setup with a turbo on daily drivers etc and they reckon its super easy and a very good setup.have a few pics here somewhere.
im currently deciding to go EFI for a bit more power or to just stay with what i have and know works well.

Not sure why you'd pull TBI off to replace with LPG? I can understand LPG in place of a carby, but not over injection.
Steve.

The injection runs pretty rough. And gas has some good advantages in my opinion.

If I recall correctly 31Zook did have some issues with his TBI setup on the hot engine in this LWB. I'm guessing that's where the rough running conclusion is coming from. All the other factory TBI setups I've seen have run pretty darn nice and smooth!

a mate of mine(bails) off here is having dramas with his swift tbi motor atm. hasnt been able to get it running right from the start but is also teaching himself through it all too. it coughs and splutters a bit whilst driving, once you load it up a bit etc,i was bunny hopping all over the place haha but there has been plenty run smooth over the years

yeah the tbi when its cold struggles to start, gotta pump the peddle to get it started (like a carby), once its started blows heap of smoke and sounds like a rotary, but that only lasts for about a min or 2 then clears out its fine but still overfuels being the computer set for a 1.6 not a 1.3. put a brand new set of plugs in it started it ran for a few mintues shut off took them back out and they were sooted up and black as.
im taking the injection off and going to gas because i want it as basic as possible dont want to have to worry about computers or sensors until the day comes when i exchange it out for a commodore motor or something similar even then i may still have it set for gas.
Hey appsie thanks for all your info on the gas setup. youve answered everything i wanted to know pretty much. How hard was it obtain the forklift bottles? what sorta ltrs do they hold? and how hard was it make them fillable at the servo? cheers

i bought my kit 2nd hand when mattt went v6 in jases zuk now so it came with the bottles.they had the fittings in them, and you should not fill them at a servo it is illegal i believe but i have done so...oops haha. i forget what litrage they take, but its about $20 to 25 for a full weekend driving i have some left over.
a standard bottle through elgas was going to cost me 22 dollars a year rental.
there is a company im trying to find them who you can buy the screw in fillers etc from and adaptors to run a 9kg/4kg as backup

Steve. Steve, im not sure of TBI, but as its pretty close to a carb set up, it may be the same. If you want to run gas, 2 options, dedicated gas, or gas/petrol, with carbs, dedicated will see you make better power and use less gas than with combo jobs. Im not much into gas, so do not know the whys, I had a F100 with a pretty smart Clevo in it, combo, was told by gas turner that dedicated is better, went with his advice, and true enuf, brilliant, less fuel used, and power as close to pure petrol I could not tell.

If you want to see more on it appsie has the same setup im buying and has pics on his build thread if you would like to see what there like or ill try and get a pic up of it
