Thats a good thing for using 10w40 over 10w30 esp here in SA where summer is hot. I checked the manual and saw that 10w40 had the best range for me but other than temp ranges whats the benefit of using 10w30 over 10w40?
The recommended temperature range are as follows
10w30: -25Celsius to 38Celsius
10w40: -25Celsius to no limit
In other words the difference between the two oils is the 10w40 has same performance at low temperatures, but works well also above 38C
So why are so many using 10w30? Because they don't need the higher running temps and prefer the thinner oil for less friction??
