you could probably run it over the diff then through the spring then next to the spring. Depending on how much room i guess

My tank lift has the tank against the left chassis rail, the exhaust went under the chassis and kicked in near the shackle. Should be heaps of room in there to fit an exhaust...

You have as much room as I do. But the top of my shocks are inboard quite a bit. A decent exhaust shop would have to be able to make something fit in there.. I made mine fit with some scrap exhaust bits and some old bends..

I don't mind that look I might even look at ot my self just a warning though its got to be out the drivers side in qld ,I don't know about other states ,and on a 45 degree angle down and back . Is that a custom long range tank tank Dono? Before I modded my long ranger tank I kicked my exhaust in to run along under the chassis. It starts roughly around center spring (near the bump stop) then runs the length of the back half of the spring, exiting next to the shackle. The spring protects it from the getting crushed. Baah! Just looked back and from what I can see I take it yours is a narrow track? That rules my method out.

With regard to the side exhaust I was told years ago by DOT that it has to discharge behind the last unsealed body seam. When I was speaking to them they were referring to getting it behind the back doors. Seeing as ours run a rear tail gate that accesses the whole cab I don't see how, in Queensland at least, are legal. Not that I do everything by the book but its a really obvious thing for them to pick. See below an excerpt from the QLD mod rules I picked up with a quick google.

The exhaust outlet must extend at least 40mm beyond
the furthermost outboard or rearmost joint of the floor
pan that is not continuously welded or permanently
sealed which could permit direct access of exhaust
gases to the passenger compartment, but not beyond
the perimeter of the vehicle when viewed in plan.

I did it on a 1 tonne rodeo ute so the facts u state above I think u might be right wich is a pity cos it looks bitchen hanging out the side;(

My old hardtop that came with no rear seats had van on the id plate. Was registered as a van, strange looking van if you ask me....

My old 1L softop was a utility on the reno and comp. plate

Got some pics of mine, a bit outside the box. Seems to work though. WT diffs under NT so I went outside chassis. Have to get a full stuff photo.

2" pipe, down from 2 1/4" mufflers. Hard to keep the rotor quiet.


Pretty standardish outlet position.

Does it scrub on the wheels during articulation?

Gotta do some more dumb stuff to see, it has only been on a couple weeks. I just ran it through some huge muddy ruts diagonally for a bit to see if it did but ended up getting stuck due to one hub not being locked properly. Never let a Subaru driver lock your hubs. There was no polished section on the pipe though so that has to be a good sign.
As I said, gotta jack it up and take a full stuff photo.
