So rang up a local farmer because someone had told me he had a 1l sierra on his property and wanted to hit him up for a few parts/whole car, anyway he said he would like to keep it but he did say he had an older 2 stroke suzuki and some gear there, not sure if its tin top or ute ect, dont know much about 2 stroke ones at all, anyway offered him a few beers for it he said i can have it for nothing, so ill go round there and grab it on saturday. My thinking is it will either help me source some parts for my 1L or can just sell it as a whole car ect worse come to worse i have 30 bucks worth of scrap metal and some rims. Was just wondering if there is any saught after parts on these things like the 2 to 3 brake block on sierras, and im assuming that t-case wouldnt fit my model or if they do is there any pros or cons to running one. (mines shagged thats why i ask)
Thanks fellas.

So you are going to the farm to get two older 2 stroke suzukis, and you want to know if theres any sought after broken blokes, whilst the farmer intends to keep you?
the con is probably no suzukis, the pro is you get sex... just not the type of sex you want

EDIT: thanks for the edit, your post makes more sense now.

Basically, the only parts in an LJ50(the most common 2 stroke Suzuki) that are any use for a SJ40 are the diff gears, they have a 4.88:1 ratio so obviously 15-20% lower than standard. I believe the steering wheel is interchangeable too.

The transfer cases are completely different, and not interchangeable.

If it's an LJ10 or an LJ20 then it's very rare and no parts will be of any use to you.

Basically, they aren't worth much, especially if it's in rough condition and don't run. If it's got a good body then it would be easy to sell on, same goes if it runs.

If you get a chance, drive it offroad. They're twice the offroad vehicle that a Sierra is. :)

Another highly sought after item are the special "Reverse Arch" springs in the susension. They will make your Sierra more stable by reducing the centre of gravity.

In all seriousness, ANY LJ50 parts are worth keeping just for their own hard-to-findness. I suppose the most rare bits will be a straight/unrusted body, and an engine that is not seized with a good crank. If it is simply just a running vehicle, you are more that capable of getting a good return on your purchase price. Get the whole vehicle, no matter the condition, and I'm sure someone off here will be happy you've saved it from the scrapheap.

Indeed, pretty sure someone on LJ10 said around 50 were made?

Probably worth noting that 2wd L series vans were available as a 2 stroke tray back, though they are quite rare.
