Another option may be to extend/retract the steering shaft. A coily should have a collapsible steering shaft to allow this.
I had to shorten mine for a power steering conversion and then lengthened it again slightly when I put my body lift in.

Look up just cruizins ad in the business section. He sells the spacers in poly, with crush tubes, longer bolts etc, everything you need to make it easy. Cheap too!

My bad, he doesn't list them separately, only with the body lift kits. But he does sell them separately so pm him for a price.

This has got to flex remember and your steering relies on it. The material used in these biscuits is engineered to be suitable for the application. If you are not certain the material you are using is suitable please consider the risk you are imposing on yourself and others. Not saying you have to buy it off me just make sure what you use is fit for purpose.

For $30 why would anybody even bother trying to rig up some half dodgy thing? That's like a pack of smokes a meat pie and a coke, I am sure most who own a vehicle could afford that... Even if unemployed it's still not that pricey.I could very much understand making bits if nothing was available to purchase as sometimes is the case. Steering and brakes and airbags... Just don't mess with them bits I reckon.

too right bigdog. i have machined i 30mm piece of nylon at my work with the bolts and new holes but it seemed too thick so i waa just wantibg to know what the notmal thickness and material was. ill more then likely end up getting one from justcruisin because as ut has been pointed out quite obviously my safety and others is a priority over $30.

i also have high density rubber i can use if it would be more suitable to accomodate the flex you mentioned.
