Mate I think you forgot to edit the title or are you looking at doing an engine and gearbox front and back. Or are you chasing both of them?

In case you're interested the second gen S14 SR20s were VCT as well - stuff all difference between them and the S15s, but can be had a fair bit cheaper from my research.

Doesn't matter too much. I don't plan on modifying it at all other than after the dump pipe. I just have been made aware the S15's had a bit more go. Cheers.

S15 SR20DET's sell for around $3K with loom and ECU. Front cuts are $4k and over.
LT230's are cheap as chips. Usually under $200 on ebay.
NFI what a C4 is worth these days, but maybe try some of the old aussie mussle forums.

The s15 sr20det does go a little better but for the price difference compared to a s13 sr it's not really worth it. For the extra $1500 it is for the s15 motor you can buy a s13 sr and get a decent aftermarket turbo that will give you more power/response than a standard s15 motor.
Try importers and also have a look on eBay and boostloosing as you can always come across cheap sr motors.
If u need any info on sr's feel free to ask I have blown up 6 of them. Coming from drift background before playing with sierras I have a bit of knowledge about sr's
Cheers jae

Yeah fair enough. I'm happy to spend about $1500-2000 on a good motor. I'd prefer not to modify it too much to save blowing the motor up or something in my driveline. Just want to be able to cruise up to 100km/h with ease.

dude stick with a s13 sr.. front mount, get a t28 (ballbearing)turbo fuel pressure reg and adjust the boost to 12psi and you will have roughly 190-200kw.. factorythey have 165kw fromj memory.. 12psi is comfortable in a sr, i had my last s13 sitting on 15psi and it copped a flogging and lasted for over a year

I'd steer clear of a front mount unless you are doing only speed work.
Try and scavenge a water to air setup off a subaru. They are far more efficient when airflow is compromised.

Not really interested in CA18. I want some decent power out of the box, plenty of available parts and something I know has worked in the driveline combo I've chosen.
And the bloke at works 180sx is shiiit haha.

Yeah. Don't wanna mod anything. I'd rather just chuck it in and flog it.

Try and scavenge a water to air setup off a subaru. They are far more efficient when airflow is compromised. Will see more slow stuff than fast stuff, but id like the option of going quick. Like this one? Know what models they're on? And what is involved in its setup?

So it's basically it's own cooling system seperate from the engine cooling system?
Engine radiator will be in the back.

Yep. So if you have room for the IC radiator up front, then it will work well.

4agze's are a bit long in the tooth these days, and SR's are way more common and probably easier to find parts for

I'm just not a fan of the Sr size department. have watched them take huge boost and make big power day in, day out without a issue for a long time tho. ah why does it matter Dan will change his mind again well before he finds a motor lol.

Yeah you're funny Phil.... Why a 4 speed and what 4speed? Why lux transfers? And why two?
I chose an SR for power out of the box, availability of the motor and parts and fuck I love a turbo. I'm not trying to squeeze the motor into the glovebox..
an LT230 to work in my setup needs an LT230 and an adaptor. Twin hilux cases need a heap of money spent on them and are still not that great, then my driveline is super long and I have another stick.
My driveline will be short, strong, work and have power to get the thing moving.
I'm not asking what you guys think of my choice. I'm asking for you to sell the stuff to me.

also Dan keep in mind Sr is a high strung motor, few seconds starved of oil and its game over.
