If its a 98, g13bb, the liana engine wont bolt up and you will nead to source an m series gearbox

Pain in the butt. You need the M-series Loom, ECU, Clock, Imobilizer, etc...
Stick with a bigger G-series. One of the reasons M-serires conversions are popular is to replace smaller M-series engines with ease. If you are trying to put the large amount of effort/money in to replace a G-series with an M, you may as well put something awesome in like a suzuki Swift GTI m-series or something rather then a wheezy Liana/ignis m-series. my 2-cents.
EDIT:
Just had a VERRRY quick look through the useful tech threads and the like, seems you are barking up the wrong tree, loads of threads on Baleno G series upgrades etc. Have a search. Seems to me M-series Liana M16 is most definately NOT the engine you want to replace a G13

Personally i would do: (in order of easyness and cheepness) g16b from a baleno g16b from a vitara J20A from a vitara J18A from a baleno GTX J24A from a GV or Kazashi
All of these should bolt up to your Gseries gearbox using the benT kit though you may need to do some funky things with flywheels

you do need to play with the flywheel as the J20 has an 8bolt flywheel and is too big to fit in the G16 bell housing and the G16 has 6 bolts.
If you find a J18 flywheel its the same size as the G16 but with 8 bolts.

Im not 100% sure how the 1.6 torque converter and ECM is going to react with the different engine characteristics but JRzook from here is working on a magic box which should make it go.
Really looking forward to seeing how it goes in the LJ, just need to get my cage sorted in the cab as thats whats holding the build up.

Ok cheers guys I just want to upgrade as easily as possible from 1.3 to 1.6 efi same flywheel and clutch/gearbox combo if possible just after a LOW km engine is the key and ease of install. Basically want to unbolt old and bolt new in.

Such a beast doesnt exist unless you buy an engine thats already modified for your model of car.
Baleno needs wiring changes, cooling system changes. vitara needs wiring, and engine mount changes. and they get harder from there.

Hmm could be easier to whack it in the shop and let them deal with it. Been quoted $2k for drive in drive out 1.6efi engineered in jimny... Sounds like the right price? After buying engine...$700? Parts to modify?$300, pain in the ass and taking up my weekend loss of work to do conversion $600 a day, engineering etc $?? Shop sounds like the easy cheap way out!

Thats a goodish price if it's excluding parts, and it's a great price if it including parts. IMO.

That's Drive it in with 1.3 then Drive it out with 1.6 so I am assuming inclusive of everything.Just drop it off and pick it up is all I have to worry about!

Sweet I thought that by buying low km engine and swapping it out myself would save some coin, but if it's going to be a pain in the ass I will get someone to do it and just enjoy the benefits!
