Yes, lots.

Approximately 10Kw more power, can't recall torque figures but there's a significant increase with the EFI. The EFI motor has a much, much better cylinder head that flows better so the EFI motor has better top end performance too.

Most importantly, EFI is miles more drivable with no carb issues.

Why are you asking? Looking to buy a vitara or looking for a donor engine for a swap?

When you say "more speed along the road" what does that mean? faster acceleration? Better ability to maintain speed on hills? Higher outright cruising speed?

A G16 (carb or EFI) is a longer stroke motor than the 1.3, so their torque comes in at lower revs, so they might be a better candidate for increasing cruising ability.

Most poeple who have swapped to a carby 1.6 comment that the car feels like it has lots more torque, and will hang on to tall gears longer on hills, for example.

The G16B (EFI) conversion really makes a stock sierra very effective under all conditions. I haven't driven one in a standard car, the ones I've been in are all quite heavy and have very large tyres, but even they cruise well. I haven't been all that impressed with the 1.6 carby converted sierras I've driven.

cold starts, blocked idle jets, hills, and auto chokes are all a thing of the past if you go fuel injected. I used to spend an hour or two a week just keeping up with general carb/engine maintenance with a 1.3. Put in a g16B two months ago and haven't had to pop the bonnet yet. couldn't be more pleased with it.

Do those hiclone things actually do anything to increase hp or just decrease bank account? What about electric supercharges, same thing? Waste of time and more importantly $$$?

Ill sell you some nitrogen to use in your tyres, will increase tyre life and hp.

Nitrogen in car tyres.... No thanks! I have done extensive testing with nitrogen vs compressed air in race slicks and yes it does have its benefits, minimal, but does have positive benefits over air.
