Hi everyone,

I just bought myself a 96 Vitara SV620 to replace my SWB 91 Vitara.

How do you engage 4x4 with the auto hubs, do you just put it into 4H/4L and to disengage do you just put it back to into 2H and reverse 10 meters or so?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spot on mate, usually just rolling back half a metre or so does the trick to unlock them again. They make a noticeable click when they unlock.

yeah that's the trick, 2wd & reverse will unlock them

usually you only need to back up about a metre or a wheel revolution, you should be able to hear the hubs unlock.

EDIT: too slow

Thanx guys,

Another question, what snorkel will fit? I do not like the one that goes the whole length of the bonnet.

Is the air filter in the same spot on the V6 as the 4 Atari (front right)?

yeah front right for the airbox, only option is the fibreglass one from FTS if you don't like the full length ones

Fucker, no fair I was driving home :P

Don't buy the cheapy snorkel out of Malaysia off ebay mate. Its a stubby design like the FTS one, but the moulding is incorrect and the bolt pattern interferes with the flare on the SVs. I think they just mirrored the one they sell for the earlier vits and figured it would be close enough . Avoid it like the plague.
