hey guys this is just a sketch of a bull bar just wondering what you opinions where. its made out of 50x50mm box and the checker plate is 5mm thick so a winch could be mounted.

You're killing me here Harry!

Checker plate is for standing on. Anything else should be flat plate; Aesthetically, and in this case, practically as well. The bolt heads for your winch will undoubtedly land on top of one of the raised bars. This is a no no.

Also worth noting that the way the bar mounts to the chassis is equally as important as how the winch mounts into the bar.

Sorry......could not resist :D

I love box.......but not when everything on the vehicle is designed around it. It's hard enough to please these pedestrian groups without people chucking square tube on the front of thier vehicles.

^^^Yeah, I have to agree. Whole thing out of box would be fugly.

Buy yourself a cheap pipe bender and a good 32NB Dawn die and a couple of sticks of 32NB medium pipe and have a play.

Box bars dont always look the best, I would fill in the wings with plate as well and reduce the size of the hoop to make it look more like a standard bar with a square hoop on top.

I like it. A splash of chrome would be the finishing touch.

Monley's was round pipe with no top hoops - this is going to look far worse... :(

If the bar is way less bulky then Monleys it should look ok but u could do the centre out of box the outer triangles out pipe, with that bar across the top maybe being slightly smaller, at least if u make as is u can chop and modify it, if looks horrid
