Can anyone tell me the differences between the G13A and G13B cranks?

Does the G13B (1324cc) have a longer stroke?

And will using a G13B crank in a G13A block with G13A pistons increase compression and if so by how much?

Off the top of my head i'm pretty sure g13ba is 1324cc and g13b is 1298. The 1324cc does come from a longer stroke (75.5 vs 74 if I remember correctly).

b crank in a ba block will drop the compression going by that logic. NFI how much, would have to do the numbers.

i thought i was confused before. i have used a G13B crank in a G13A motor

I have not used a G13BA at all.

stock G13B= 1298cc (has flat top pistons but short stroke)
stock G13A= 1324cc (has low comp pistons with longer stroke)

so i have a G13B motor that is now 1324cc in displacement. (due to longer strokecrank) So with this displacement and the flat top G13B pistons wont my compression have gone up over standard?

From 28.3 to 29.8mm
From 'A' piston ONLY to 'A' or 'B' for 9.0:1 CR or 9.5:1 CR.

Crank:
Center of crank to center of big end.
From 38.5mm to 37.76mm ( 1.486mm)

Camshaft:

Total max height of any lobe from back of lobe to tip:
From 38.148 to 38.136mm

Distributor assy:
Centrifugal and Vacuume advance char' are changed
Timing :
from 6+-1 Degree to 8+-1 Degree

For carburetor type.
From 1324 to 1298cc
From 77 to 75.5mm stroke.
From engine G13A to G13BA
From 8.9:1 to 9:1 or 9.5:1 CR

everything is up and going but what timing should i set?

The 1324cc is normally set at 10*TDC but ive read somewhere that the 1298cc is only set at 6*TDC. so what should i run? Having the flat top pistons and a slightly higher compression im thinking it should be about 6*TDC

what you think

oh and it pings a bit at 10* with 91octane unleadded

took it for a rive yesterday and it feels weird as it now has a clutch fan
Makes heaps of noise . need to get some kms under the tyres so i can send it off to be dyno tuned. carby needs a reco anyway.

timing is set at 6* and is alot better and only pings under heavy accel. alot better than the 10*it was origanially set at.

will keep ya updated as i go. B4T
