if your looking for a cheap mod a g16b conversion is going to cost about minimum $1000. Not quite in the cheap category in my book but definitely worth it.

I don't think it's possible for $1K. I'd double that. I'd suggest the conversion cost (exhaust/adapter/fuel) is around 1K, so you'll have to add the cost of the motor to that.

Steve.

It's already a Vitara so what adapter do you mean?
Vits are showing up at self serve wreckers a lot more now so
Fuel tanks, wiring looms , comps and of course motors can be
Had pretty cheaply, so I think $1000 is quite possible
if you know what your doing.

Ya that's where I was going with my post. My conversion into a Sierra cost $2k easily but I figured if its already a vitara then it might be a bit easier and less expensive. If you do everything yourself and you get lucky with all the parts you need at the wreckers Ill split the difference with Steve and say $1500.

That's a fair point, I had my sierra cap on - still, it's only a $200 adapter the difference. I reckon it would be a struggle for $1K. It's pretty hard to find a whole motor in a self serve wrecker, although everything else is easy.

That's cause you live on the wrong side of the river Steve. :)
I saw two last week plus a 2L V6 and a bunch of M series motors.

you blew up a SR & then fitted a carby G16a... something doesn't quite add up?

have you even seen a 2jz, good luck fitting one of those in your engine bay, they're a very long motor being a straight 6, it's bloody tight with the factory fitted H20a v6.

post pics of the engine bay with the silva motor fitted or i'm calling BS on the boosted SR20.
