I have read up on G16b and there cracking problems and now have personal experience in it I would like to know what people have done to fix it and how long it has lasted. Heard of people using additives and even taking the engine out and getting it TIG welded. what have you done and how long has it lasted?

mine had a cracked block, behind water pump. i used sealup and it worked fine and still is years on,didnt look to be as big as that.
do i reccomend it....no but in saying that it worked for me. if it wasnt allready in my car and so on and if i was better with engines i may have changed my tune a bit but i dont like engines so it stayed in LOL. Sucks that you have found that,it was only a recent addition wasnt it?

There are two different thermostats available, 180F and 195F, I would steer clear of the 195F stat, too hot = cracked block.

Yeah i dont really want to patch it up but dont have the funds and/or the time to put a coil pack engine in there I would like a bit better of a solution than the additive stuff.
