if i could find a good set of jeep diffs i would consider it.
but they would have to be CJ5-7 and they are rare as hens teeth.

And the front is barely stronger than Sierra without upgrades.
International scout are a better option for a couple of reasons, but there's no good reason to use 40 year old us stuff to save some rims.
If you really want 5 on 5.5, cut down f150 would be the go- 9" rear d44 front.
If I have time ill reply in more detail tonight.

Doesnt Jonno do custom welding and changing of stud pattern holes. He's awesome........
Back to reality why does it have to be cj5-7 diffs???? is that for the ratio or because anything else would gayify your car too much???
There are some super strong jeep diffs out there, or as Guanasteve said F truck or Bronco diffs.
Or maybe 60/75 series with custom hubs. This way you get big axles full floater rear. Spacers are banned in most comps so that could fuck you over getting adapters made too

if i wanted to be like every body else i would have already put toy diffs under it.
i considered the bronco / f truck route, but massive diff centres on 35s really put me off.
if i was to run bigger tires at some point then this would probably be the go.

Rocky have same pattern, But whatever you do don't pick rocky Dana's can be built strong, but the smaller ones from tj's and xj and most jk (D35) are not so strong. A centre stuck in the housing puts me off them.

What's your budget like? These come in 5 stud http://www.spidertrax.com/products/spider-9 I think sticking with suzuki stuff just for the sake of it being suzuki is pointless. People on here hate toyota diffs but stick a ford alternator on their engine without thinking twice... If you go bigger diffs do you need to keep a certain width? Have you spoken to your engineer about it?

Im not hugely worried about budget. though spider 9s might be pushing it!!! Im not too worried about sticking with zook for zooks sake. but honestly there is something cool about keeping the 5x5.5 stud pattern. width doesnt really worry me too much i will just cover my tyres with more tube if needed. and yes ive consulted an engineer

Yeah I get that and you already have some pretty blingy wheels to suit.
If you don't mind width I'd try to adapt a F150 front hub to 60 diffs all round. That way you get heaps of gearing options, heaps of diff upgrades, probably bigger bearings in the F150 hub and 60's are already floating rear to make it potentially easier.

Joes diffs are looking good if you ask me. The rear is full floating and the axles are bigger and stronger. But if your going to go bigger tyres then maybe Dana's are the go.

There are heaps of hop ups for d44' even the d30 front, d35 rears are utter rubish
I ran a d30 with 30 spline cromo's, 4.88's, ox locker and beat on it, only down side to it was the ball joints on the knuckles
D44's would be the go. Not a crappy one out of a wrangler though.. they have the light duty axle tubes and are narrower. i think some wagoneers and j20's had full size d44's

Certainly much easier to find in wreckers than Jeeps. Bolt pattern was still 5 on 5.5" (139.7mm). Plenty of aftermarket R&P choices (including 4.88), and lots of locker options. See E-BAY.

Dear as hell and still not that great.
an FJ80 Longfield CV would be better especially when they bring out the 30spline

Is this car going to be road driven?
I don't mean certed, I mean lotsa kms and on road gearing requirements.
I suspect the grand you have in the beadlocks will be dwarfed by the cost of the final hub to hub spend, so if you're not going suzuki, you might as well take any pattern you can find.
No one has suggested using a vitara rear to build your front end. That might get past your fears of exploding vitara front end gears.

My apologies Dan. I look forward to seeing this rear-front diff once it's in. I vote for 26 spine though to keep it off the shelf axles, otherwise you might as well go 35 spline and full custom.

I skim read too haha. I think its a good idea. Ups the strength, keeps servicing cheap, light, and cheap axles. Vitara rear gear sets are almost given away too.
