the 'leaf spring shackle', does it work?

The buggy lead used to be a real common mod before air shocks and link suspension became more affordable.

It's called buggy leaf or 3/4 elliptic/elliptical. Have a search on outers and Pirate, some good information on both of them. That one has a drop shackle as well which is a really questionable set up but the can work well and can be a pretty cheap set up.

I'm around. There are a few versions of the above mentioned flare.

Fibreglass
Poly
and ABS plastic.

I reckon the ABS are the pic of the bunch. Finish is eceptional, and the durability sits somewhere between F-glass and the poly.
