Hey guys,

Upon hours and hours of researching, i have been trying to locate a source to replacing the 066500-5350 12V 8-Pin Flasher Relay with an LED Compatible Non Load-Sensing Relay to be able to run 6 LED blinkers (2x Rear, 2x Front, 2x Side)

I Refuse to use load resistors due to Heat and the modification of factory looms.

Has anybody came up with a solution? e.g removing female connectors out of existing relay holder the connect to the replacement relay?

use higher power LED's lol and what heat? indicators have a roughly 50% duty cycle, they would never get hot. even if they were on for hours. and if you go ceramic resistors the legs can just be soldered to the bulbs legs and pushed into the holder no loom mods needed.

or just buy a 8pin LED flasher from ebay. there is heaps of them.

ORRRR buy a few transistors and TTL Timers and make your own.

Im confused... dont ya just change them with those drop-in LED's that you see at supercheap etc? arent they supposed to be reverse compatible?

Stick in 7watters all round from dx.com and u should be fine 3 watt is a bit to low and cause the hyper blinking.. they only go in one way so if in wrong way have like 2 seconds before get a puf of smoke

I've been running LED lamps as rear indicators for while now. I have, but yet to install, a replacement non load sensing flasher.
I'll pull my finger out and install/test it on Monday.
By the way, why are you looking for an 8 pin flasher?

i wasn't to clear but the load resistors would be exactly the same. they would never really get hot unless they where like 1W or less resistors

and they must be crappy made if do that. most LED's have reverse polarity diodes so that doesn't happen not to mention most of time the LED its self its reverse break over voltage is higher then 12V so that would never happen anyway.

I fitted an 8 pin flasher which is a direct replacement for the 8 pin denso unit in most Jimnys. It has a massive amount of tricks up its sleeve but the best is one touch signaling which is adjustable from 3 to 6 flashes.

There is an electronic JSO flasher unit manufactured by Novita (formerly Tridon) that is plug-and-play for the Suzuki SJ/Samurai/Sierra/etc.

The part number is EP34

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH THE ISO PART NUMBER EP35! That is the same part but for non-Japanese vehicles. The plus and minus terminals are reversed on it.

Check with your auto factors for availability - it is assembled in the USA....

I have one in my all-LED turn-signal Samurai.

...and YES - load resistors are EVIL! (and dangerous) and inefficient.
