Well i was surfing around the net and looking at some japanese crap they sell for sierras and i came across these. Just wondering what people opinons of them are.





According to the add when you lift a tire off the ground you flick the switch and this locks the brake. So that the other front tire starts to spin kind of working like an Locker.

Good idea in theory, but in reality it's the last thing i'd want hooked up inline with my brakes. ie, driving at 100kph and the wires to the driver's side front rub through and short out...

in theory, sounds like a great idea..........
of corse you can always ride you break pedal for free and you would be surprised how well that can work

i am yet to see a zook do a burnout with 31+ tires on it. though in the wet i can get it spining then it just dies (locker)

oil dumper/ window washer full of oil mounted in the boot full of oil with the plastic tube mounted through the wheel arch and on to the wheels..
just press a button= instant burnout ...

You could say the same about any electrical item on your car, maybe I should be worried that the wiring will rub through on the hiway at 100kph and my electric trailer brakes will fail and my boat and tandem trailer will push me off the road when I get to the Noosa turnoff.
If you are that paranoid about your ability to wire the devise you could have it totally isolated from power until you go 4x4ing.

Yeah Fluffy I have seen those line lock kits on Jap imports prior to compliance, stand on the brake, hold a button on the steering wheel and then realse the brake, front wheels stay locked until you release the button.

V6 Grand Vitara's do great burnouts

befor i got my locker i could do awesum 1 wheel burnouts. smoke everywhere as i fry the 32 bf muddys

like the ider of oil. might try it one day when im in a burnout mood. on private property of couse

in the oldern days all you had to do was coat the back wheels with grease
and pull a plug lead or two off the red six. instant lumpy cam with burnout power.

Ashley I had a look at the link, man that has got to be the worst translation I have ever read. I love the line "From coconut, instant front LSD completion" which I guess means "In a nut shell it's a bit like having an LSD in the front"

I know a fella that uses them on his back brakes, so he can do front digs in rockcrawling, with rear disconnect.

The beaudesert outers boys had a kind of automated version of this on their buggies. Sensors on the disks would sense when one wheel was spinning more than the other and activate that brake. Pretty cool in theory.

Some OEM traction control setups work by braking one wheel...

in theory and proven as well.. very effective and much more gentle on CV's

Yeah went and checked it out one day. Loved the idea just couldn't get my head around designing one myself. Though the parts advertised in this thread would make it a whole lot easier. I think the sensor part to work out when one wheel was spinning would be pretty easy too. The bit I think would be difficult would be how to tell when the braked wheel has gained traction again.
