Soo the old exhaust finally completely shat itself...
one of the spring bolt thingies snapped and down pipe moved away from the manifold.

Now pretty much as soon as this happened. Lost shit loads of power and it started running rough.
Is this caused by lack of back pressure or is miss firing now.

I put the new extractors on and started making the rest of the system but only got as far as the cat before i had to head home.
now the tone is different and it sounds different. there is slightly more power but still gutless as shit.

How can i diagnose if its missing?

You should be able to audibly hear if its constantly misfiring? When you say it is running rough, do you mean on idle or while being driven?

I find videos usually help other people to diagnose ;)

It was running very rough on idle with the open manifold on.
but the extractors stopped it from idling rough.
But it the power loss is very dramatic. i can usually comfortably cruise at 90kph in 5th.
Its struggling to to make 80k in 4th atm

You should be able to hear it missing or if it is missing at idle they usually shake heaps.

I doubt the exhaust makes this much difference. I drove my 1ltr into town with just the manifold to get an exhaust put on, only difference was the noise. Twas the only day she turned some heads

Yeah it does shake more at idle... it does sound like its missing but it started at the same time the exhaust fell off so i thought it might be related.

Miss firing means you have a problem with your girlfriend? Or did you mean misfiring... could be a plug lead is loose, or a plug fouled.

I checked all the plugs and leads. the plugs had a bit of carbon build up so i sanded them off.
all the leads seem to be good.
now the try and find which cylinder was missing. with the motor running i pulled the leads off and put them back on again 1 by one.
in cylinders 2 and 3 there was no difference when i pulled the leads off.
but when i took both 2 and 3 leads off at the same time it starting missing even worse and stalled.

???? is this a fuel air issue. could the middle two cylinders be running richer? because the intake runners are shorter?

I'd be saying get new leads and plugs first, I doubt it has anything to do with AFM.

So as fate will have it turned out to be a blown head gasket. Between cylinder 2 and 3. Got the head off tonight will get it back together in the morning hopefully.
