So i have begun putting back my 1l non switch case due to having to pull it apart to find why the spedo wouldnt work, turns out someone possibly huffing gasket blue decied to put a spedo worm that is nowhere near close to matching the gear and it chewed out (will post pic once i take one). so anyways as i am re assembly im checking everything out before i zip it all back up again only to notice the 2 and 4WD selector wont move. i dont mind having to give it a love tap but i dont know what way it should move, im not sure if it disconets from the drive shaft flange or from the t-case side.
thats with the hi low selector pulled all the way out.

with the detent balls in place?

one will only move if the other is in the correct position.

i.e you cant shift from high to low unless the 2-4 selector is in 4wd

wont move with ball in or out. its stuck it 4wd and can select hi or low easily but cant disengage 4wd

Problem solved not sure how but i fixed it selects gears well now.
