Hey guys knew to the forum and this is my first post, I'm in the market for a Suzuki as a project 4x4 and am actually kind of confused of what to buy? A jimny Sierra or vitara? And what are the differences in the later model sierras the Jimmy's and the vitaras and what would you guys suggest Andy why? This will be a project and used for 4x4ing camping and a little bit of running around town in.

Here we go again... we get one of these questions every few weeks.

You need to decide exactly what you want it for, how much you want to spend, how much modifying you want to do...

Do you need 5 doors or would 3 be OK?
Are things like EFI, AC and power steering important to you?
How much have you got to spend? How much of that are you thinking for purchase vs mods?
How much work can you do on it yourself?
Are you planning to build a monster truck, an all-rounder, or a weekender that will see more road than dirt?

Hi Zaneo,
I was in the same position as you a couple of months ago and posted a similar question. There is alot of good info on this forum and people are pretty helpful, the search function id great for getting answers straight away and not having to wait for responses.

If its any help, I went for the Vitara because I wanted air con and it has a 1.6 engine.

I took the advice of other forum members and bought a cheap stock car. I put a 2"suspension lift in it and Im going to gradually modify it to suit my needs as I discover where the car, or my abilities as a driver, need improving.

Hope this helps a little
