Hey guys,
As I just bought a winch I was looking up winching techniques etc stumbled accross this video.

I reckon its a great idea, comes with its pros and cons ofcourse, just thought I'd post for you blokes to have a look-see !

Worlds stupidest idea.

How do you plan to fit it when you're in 2ft of mud? How often do you get a winching point in the very specific place that these need?

Looks like a well thought out product.

@Sideways. Watch the vid. looks easy to fit. Shovel some mud away from the wheel, and use the well designed ground anchor like they suggest.

I like seeing people innovate and think outside the box. The ground anchors are a nice design too

This isn't thinking out side the box. This idea is as old as the motor car.

It's not something I'd run, but it's not new or innovative. In fact, early military hummers ran lugs on the hubs that (I think) the wheel brace could be threaded into to use like this.

While the product might work in particular circumstances, that video is a crock.
Look at about 3:02 and you'll see the ute driving up the washout with the rope slack and getting caught on the LHF tyre sidebiters.
A slack rope will never move a vehicle.

I would much prefer an electric or PTO winch.

The other thing not mentioned in the vid is how does this work on open diffs?
The wheel with less load IE: wheel without rope attached will spin, and the winch drum will stop.
