so sifting through all this info should i be adding just one long leaf to both the front and rear of the right side of the car and that is it? i am still considering putting the load leafs back in aswell as it is quite rolly no matter which way you turn! does anyone agree with this or do you have some reasoning or better suggestions? cheers jamie

it really is just trial and error.
i have ended up with 4 leaves in the front passenger and 5 on the drivers side
and 6 in both rears. that is because i go bush with a lot of weight + a heavy trailer.

on mine I used stock rears plus the longest leaf (not the main with the bush eyes) out of a set of lifted fronts, reset to the height I wanted and had no lean (without me in it )
adding a leaf to what you have now will make the springs stiffer, right now they are too soft which is what makes the lean, the difference in height will be bugger all I think
I dont like the idea of adding a leaf just on one side as you are raising the spring rate unevenly which could make for wierd handling (not that you would notice it), I prefer to give that side some more arch so they sit level once installed
load leafs wont do anything for you as they only come into effect once the springs bottom onto them, but different lengths leaves will effect the rate different so you can play around if you have spares till you get to what suits you

Hrmm.. Ive got lean to Didnt know why, but seems to be a normal problem?
No idea what leafs are in there but im pretty sure there not standard, as I got another set of leafs with it when I bought it that are apparently standard ones.

mine has a lean now but it actually leans to the passenger side feels good to be different!
Thought I would use this thread rather than start a new one. If I did a RUF, would it be possible to use boomerang shackles on the front to allow the spring to hang further forward, re drill the u-bolt plate and not have to redrill the rear hanger? Or will this just give the exact same result as sticking the rears up front and just using longer shackles?

thread BUMP yay! lean is annoying! Tyre gets chewed up when its really flexing and I give it throttle.
Wonder what would happen if I put extended shackles on the front? I'm not sure but I think the ones that are on look standard.. and the guy I bought from said its raised around 3", shouldn't it have extended shackles already?
Tho I should mention I dont know if the info I got from him was accurate for the lift, as he noted tyres bigger then they are lol. But Im sure its lifted some what to fit the 235's it has on.

it may not be lifted too much at all mate. the 235's on mine do not touch at all at full flex with a 2" OME lift but they do scrub on full lock. Post up some pics for us to have a look at.

It has chewed the tread a little on the driver side which is the side that is leaning down. The bottom of the guard to the tyre is probably 1 inch less then the passenger side, And I was turning pretty hard to get up a step up rut. Im not sure if it was full lock but it was turning pretty sharp at the time.

I think I might have a go at pulling my front leafs off soon, maybe see about switching em over to put the lean on the passenger side so it is offset when I get in to drive it lol

The shape of the shackle makes absolutely no difference. It can be a boomerang or a Z or a W for all it matters. The only thing that matters is the length between the two pins. Yep.
If you just stick rears in the front and don't redrill the rear perch OR do a chassis extension you will need hideously long shackles to stop them inverting.

Wondering if I should pull 1 leaf out of my rear setup, if I do is it the very bottom? Or 1 up from the bottom?
switched the front over and it still leans so about to do the rear in a few hours so if I have some replies by then I might attemp removing a leaf lol other wise Ill leave it harddddddddd.
lol.... ehh decisions decisions..
EDIT, done, took one out, sits a fair bit lower, almost an inch and is softer, Gonna have to test it on the weekend :p
Might end up getting extended shackles for front and rear now to prop it back up abit.
+ getting a new clutch soon, Does $250 sound about right for a heavy duty one?
