If there is nothing wrong with the motor ,then you could sell it for good money and offset the cost of the power upgradeto the Vit .
Just food for thought!!

What do you think of this mixer?
BLOS carb
It looks like it works on the same sort of principal as an SU carb. It comes with 4 different metering tubes and from reading the documentation it seems like it would work pretty well. Anything on the web about it that i've found is in Polish.
Doco attached.

Does anyone have any experience with simple converters?
This is one of the last pieces I need and not 100% sure what i'm looking for. As far as I can tell the B2 or Impco E/L are pretty popular for forced induction. I'd just like to hear some input from someone that's been there already.
BTW, I now have a LPG tank which will replace the stock tank. It's pretty hard to find a tank that will fit between the zook chassis rails but I managed to get one. This one is 310 dia and 660 long. I would have liked one a little larger but beggers can't be choosers. This one will have 40L gas capacity so range will be down a bit compared to normal petrol.

Bit hard if there is no fuel tank.
Not sure what sort of convertor you should be running on a turbo. Don't even know if you should run a positive or negative feed one. My little lpg experiment has been shelved due to lack of funds. If you are in Sydney you can have my convertor if you like. It's Aisin brand positive feed and never been used

A bit big perhaps. Forklift bottle might be the go.

You know what would be sweet (hence extremely illegal and outright dangerous), a second piggy back circuit. Basically an empty pipe that mirroed the lpg one with a BBQ fitting at the back of the car so that could let you connect spare cylinder in times of trouble
On a more serious note just plan your trips, and learn how to fab a temp carb with a plastic bottle and a big Rag for genuine ermegencies. ( a spare windscreenwasher bottle, a switch, hosing and rag if you want to go hitech )
or just modify the set up so you can have a 5l aux petrol tank with a TBI on the intake
So looking forward to seeing a gas siera
(seen several lpg vitaras on the street but never got the chance to tlk to the owner, i have spoken to a daihatsu lpg mira, prety promising info there)

I have just got back from my friendly gas installer, I am having it fitted to my lwb very shortly. we managed to squeeze in a usable 70 litre tank with some mods to cross members. (this perticular tank was made for a specific instalation but was made in the wrong dimensions so i am getting it cheap ) Will look kinda funny but will not hang any lower than my old fuel tank did. you would not be able to fit this one under a shorty though. if it was not for the lwb, huge lift and funky tray I would have been stuck with 54 litre or so. BTW i have a 40 litre petrol tank that sits over the diff now so it will be dual fuel. Not sure how far i will get on gas but with my poor little 4k Toyota doing 4000rpm @ 85kph I'm sure it will not be a huge distance, at least with the 2 tanks full it will only weigh about 20kg more than my old petrol tank did when full.

70L usable is pretty useful. Where does the tank go, parallel to the chassis rails?

it runs from side to side across the back,
it will go across here and nearly touches chassis rails. because of the extra width of the axles the exhaust runs outside of the rails. The cross member at top of the screen will be removed to alow tank to sit higher
this is the cradle that will hold tank and replace cross member. (It still needs to be narrowed at this stage

Yeah, I'm not sure on that one. Just spoke to my gas man about the problem i had on the way home. Turns out that it is set too rich. Was tuned with to little gas in tank (therefore not as much gas pressure to converter) to need to adjust it when i get home. I would have thought that from the feel of it, it was to lean. I would not have thought that it was too rich and that was causing the bogging. Well at least i have learned something today.

Mine still has the same symptom as yours with increased bottom and almost no top end, but I have put a meter on and mine is lean. I'm running a very similar setup to you, except my hi speed mixture is on the venturii.
I'm happy with my setup regardless. Much better than carb

Sounds like it might have something to do with converter setup?
How do you fill your tank BTW?

I have the feeling it's a restriction in the venturii, I'm just too lazy to look into it.
As for the bottle, I have the filling point at the top. So the servo fitting fits nicely. I used to unstrap it but now I don't. I'm using a 46litre bottle.

did putting in the bigger tank fix you 'no top end' problem? If not, what fixed it?

I welded mine.
I'm running a Sierra dissy on the 16v motor. So the dissy spins the opposite way. I had no mechanical advance. So locked it and set on 20 something degrees.
What timing should I be running?

Much involved in putting the sierra dizzy on the 16v head?

@ Tassie. That convertor is overkill for the engine you are running. It's identical to the convertor I had on one of my GQ Patrols, and in the forklift game is commonly found on bigger forklifts running tb42 motors of v6 GM motors. There should be a screw on the convertor to set your idle mixture, which is done by turning the screw till you get the fastest idle, and then the one you really want to set right is the one in the gas vapour line going to the carby. This is the maximum gas flow adjustment and it's not good just to open it up. To set it properly the engine should be under load. ie on a dyno, and you adjust it until you can get it to maximum revs out of the engine. The only thing you can do to set it at home, is screw it in and open it up a quarter of a turn at a time whilst test driving at the same time. Once you get that set right it should go like the clappers.
