pretty sure it would be 6 of 1 1/2 a dozen of the other...
3 link you'll still need a panhard so you're going to have the same number of links as a triangulated 4 link.

No one is laughing, to coil convert a car you need to link it there is no either or. You will need either a 3 link or a 4 link or a 5 link or a radious arm setup.

broken zook, do you have a brother in WA named jake?
what sort of comps do you plan on doing, it's going to be hard to make it look 100% factory fitted & be comp ready but i'm sure it can be done.
have a look through some of the more extreme build threads for ideas, you will need links, coils, coil seats, shocks, nuts & bolts a metric fuckload of measuring & brain scratching.

that was why i asked for or or in my first post as said it needs to be linked if you want to coil it unless your staying leaves with a helper coil OL SKOOL what other specs do you have on the car or plans? why not stay leaves, build the more important bits like a cage and a winch etc first and see how you go driving a round? is it lwb or short wheel base? edit: just read stockman. Used to be a super sweet little lwb zuk in the winch scene a few years back on 31s and leaf springs. Worked well string pullings gay

Have a look through Gwagonsteve's build as he is running radius arms. Bear in mind the conversion isnt something a 'newbie' will be able to successfully do very easily and anyone that volunteers to 'help' you are likely to be doing most of the work whilst you get the beers.

Check out the ccda regulations and work out what vehicle class you're aiming for, what restrictions there are for that class and whether that fits into local comp regs.

don't take this too personally, but with the questions you're asking.. you'll just end up ruining it.

too many people are going to build a comp car, then it gets given up on half way through when it becomes too hard or doesnt work well. and in this case its maybe not the best start with some of your plans above. and anyone can cut up a car,but to then mod it better and to work is hard.
if your planning a v6 and auto id be changing the hilux case to a rover case but thats just me.
if you are planning a v6 and auto in a bodied winch truck id buy a hilux or buy a cheap patrol wagon and ute chop it,proven to be a better winch truck over n over
an internal cage to mmm's specs or whoever qld comps are under will be tight in a little stockman cab, you will find it very tight squeezing a auto in also.
i love the idea of a zuk in the winch field i really do and would love one myself to race against one of my best mates in his 45 and my cousin in his patrol but id keep one fairly simple n just have fun

So much truth there.
I love Suzuki's, but rules are rules. If you're building for a comp, the car doesn't matter. Only the rules matter.

zookprojectfnq off here has a cool little winch zuk that he has been building n changing and improving for years now, its sweet check it out. admittedly it is now copping a crazy motor and links with coilovers but where it was before is maybe a better start for you. or look at Zook_fan little swb winch truck allthough it hasnt survived well its exactly how id want one and looks cool in a field of big rigs But what you really want is a trol with a big boosted TB48
