i have replaced the clutch on my SV420 while replacing my gearbox and now the pedal sits low. friction point is right on the floor and has trouble selecting gear. I have bled the system several times now, the pedal adjuster is almost maxed out.
My assumption is the cylinders, however neither are leaking and the master reservoir doesn't appear to be back-filling when the pedal is depressed. before i go in balls deep i just want to know if anyone has had a similar issue or can help troubleshoot in any way.

When you say pedal adjuster, do you mean the push rod from the pedal to the master cylinder? Did you check the throw out bearing and clutch fork were the same when you swapped boxes? Do you have the right clutch kit?

yes the push rod from pedal to master cylinder adjustment..
i am looking at the throw out and clutch fork this afternoon. i am skeptical that this is the issue however it doesnt hurt to check these things before replacing parts that are in perfect working order.

after checking the throw out and clutch fork today with no problematic issues in there the process of elimination is withering its way down.
slave cylinder will be changed out on monday and if that doesnt change the effect, the master will soon follow.
if neither of these have any results i will be completely out of ideas.

so far i have
1) bled the system several times.
2) checked clutch/brake bolt for any signs of wear, damage or bends.
3) re-installed gearbox checking clutch fork and throw out bearing.

all parts that have been ordered are for SV420 models not the SE416 and have been thoroughly checked to make sure they match up.

First - the pushrod adjustment is not meant to be used to adjust the clutch engagement point, it's there to ensure that the piston in the clutch master can return fully to it's rest position, as this is required to open a "valve" within the master cylinder, allowing fluid to flow from the reservoir in to the cylinder - set it so there is a few thou clearance.

Second - what condition is the clutch in? The most common cause of the engagement point being low is a worn clutch plate.

R u doin a manual clutch bleed? Just pumping the pedal.
when i use 2 work at zook dealer, i use 2 get this sort of issue quite often.
Found air bleeders worked the best, to get all air out.
Mite be worth a try, before you start buyin new slaves/masters

the bloke at the gearbox shop used the air bleeder on it 3 or 4 times as he told me.
since then i have gravity bled another 4 times.

Dam. Is it a 2nd hand gearbox? Did it come with a slave or did u use the original slave?

honestly i didnt even unwrap the box when it arrived. i just sent its off to get new bearing put through it and installed into my car. will have to ask fatzook if the slave was supplied.
did another air pressure bleed today which has helped a bit, the pedal now sits at the right height however it doesnt want to get into gear smoothly.
