WORST IDEA EVER

We had a member of the vic club with a feroza that had tonnes, just tonnes of time spent on it. The owner is a very well qualified automotive tech/tacher. He spent a lot of time trying to work the bugs out of the feroza motor. They are nothing special. Apparently they like a ping/have overheating heat problems, the water pump is rubbish ( to the point he started work on
making a high flow impeller) they don't have a very good powerband for off road work - too peaky - and on top of that, they don't really have all that much power. More than a G16A, but roughly the same as a G16B.
He tried the DeTomaso Charade version - that was even harder to keep cool and didn't make any power until 59758675747465970987rpm.
The big problem, though, as always, is the gearbox. You'd need to find a short 2WD (RWD) gearbox, or get the feroza 'box and transfer, and see if all the oil falls out the back of the feroza gearbox when you pull the transfer off. (bet it does) Then you'd have to close out the back of the feroza gearbox, and make a custom jackshaft to join it to the sierra transfer.
Forget about running the feroza transfer. It has rubbish ratios, no gearing options, and a centred rear output.
I don't think it's worth the hassle.
Steve.
