Hey guys another quick one.
Should the CAS on the Baleno sump have an o-ring or sealant to make it leak free. I installed one without either and it's leaking oil from the sensor itself not the cut out.

there should be a bead of sealant around the top section of the sump where cas goes through.
edit: this should be done when you are applying a bead of sealant to install the sump.

if the cas is leaking then then it must be coming from the front crank seal, because the cas goes into the timing belt/ sprocket area not inside the engine..

Okay. There were no leaks before. So what have I done and how can I fix it. I put a little sealant around the sensor and this reduced the leak by quite a bit. Only a 5 cent piece size now after its been sitting all day. It seems weird that it doesn't have an o ring in it or something like that

The crank angle sensor doesn't need a seal as it's sperate from the rest of the sump which contains the oil. The crank angle sensor simply goes into the timing cover directly below the crank pulley/timing belt.
You either haven't applied enough sealant around the mating surface of sump and the block, or there is a leak around that area from where it was welded and it appears oil is leaking from the cas. Your best bet would be to remove the sump and inspect for any leaks from the welded area. If it's all good get some decent rtv silicone and put a nice bead the whole way around the mating surface of the sump and stick it on.

I don't think it's the front crank seal as that didn't leak before. It would have to be something i have done. I tried to be very careful installing the sump but I might of skimped on the sealant near the sensor.

Is there a way I could find out if it's the crank seal without removing the sump??
For example remove the timing cover

The ONLY way to find out if it's the crank seal is to remove the timing cover.

Wouldn't it also be leaking out of the cover itself then as well

not necessarily because it would drip straight down to the lowest point which would be the hole for the cas. If it wasn't leaking before though I would guess it's the sump seal.

Yeah I'm thinking the same. I didn't put as much there as I didn't want the CAS to sit on an angle. Although I was sure I did a good job. I put a touch of sealant around the CAS and it's slowed the leak to a very small drip
