Hey guys, Im getting some quotes for full comprehensive insurance on my SJ80,

been quoted anywhere between 600-750 a year for a 4k agreed value. My SS ute its only 1100 a year for full comp.

What are you guys paying for full comp, if you have it and what company? Like i realise its only a sierra and i can fix it myself just don't want to hit a pole, BMW etc, wondering if its a better option to go 3rd party fire and theft!

Cheers guys

for a car of that age i wouldnt personally bother with fully comp.
fire and theft is fine, and just put $50 a week in a seperate account in case the unthinkable happens

Just go 3rd party fire and theft, and drive it carefully...

Then if you do hit a BMW, the bmw is covered, just not your car.

Insurance has a huge weighting on location and driver age, so you cant really compare them anyway.

I suspect if knowone could afford fully comprehensive insurance, the number of road accidencts would deminish significantly....as people would drive a whole lot more carefully.

Fire and theft was the same price as full comp with NRMA.

I pay $400 a year with NRMA. My sierra is insured for 2k.

Probably being on the gold coast, the car theft capital wouldn't help matters much. I know all my premiums jumped up at least 30% from when i lived in kingaroy.

1997 SJ80 Resin top conversion, colour coded. Alloy aftermarket wheels Full Comprehensive, with SGIO.
I have a 94 Hilux RN85 also with them.
They first quoted 310.00 but I said no thank too dear...
She then put me on hold for a couple minutes, came back, said 200.00. I said DEAL!

Both vehicle cost me just under $500 a year for full insurance.
