Looking at buying a Suzuki Sierra and was wondering what sort of lift is needed to fit 31's under it? Also what is need to run 33s?

this question comes up more often than the sun...

you can fit 31's with no lift if you chop enough steel out, same with 33's. you will want transfer gears & look at cromo's for the front end.

You will want body lift or bumpstop spacing unless you want to go to town chopping stuff for the 33s. At the very least you'l need to chop the outriggers off and hammer the seams + body lift and/or bumpstop spacing.

"30s" (29.fk all) are rubbish and thats with the 3.9 nt diffs - on std gearing... I still have outriggers just, chop the heck out of it and a little lift


"30's" fit with no lift n a little scrubbin, so the rest cant be too hard

31's dont need any cutting other than removing the outriggers.

My 31's scrub everywhere with no lift. But scrubbing is fine with me.

I ran 30s on my 1l (NT) Sierra with no lift, I added some bumpstop spacing and trimmed the outriggers down and had no scrub at all (even on full lock, flexed up). They fitted fine on the back and I made no gearing changes.

It made it 100x more shit to drive on the road and it was pretty crap in technical stuff (even stock it wasn't geared low enough though IMO) but it was great in sand.

On the road... I'l put it this way, there's a big hill aptly named second gear hill here, with 26" tyres I'd lose 5-10kms going up it. With the 30s I'd lose 25-30. It went from being a pretty quick little 4wd to being barely adequate in the power stakes.
