I vote BS. I don't believe it's possible to legally fly an aircraft without twin plugs for ignition redundancy.

In any case, a stupid idea, but more power to them - I rocked a sierra with a 660 turbo triple for years.

steve , how very naive of you . there is a class of aircraft that are plated as "experimental" this basically means you can build and fly whatever the fuck you want and there is no recourse to anyone if you crash and die because of your retarded hobby.

jrzook , it will be running the original g10 intake manifold with an adaptor for a SPI throttle body off an escudo. there will be pics ....

also a big thanks to wayne on here (reallyuted i think ?) for the adaptor plate for the throttle body !!!

just to elaborate on the experimental aircraft thing , never double redundancy on ignition systems , sometimes they will use a second fuel pump while taking off , funniest thing ever when i wired a haltech into one , i rang them for technical support on their "altitude compensation" he asked what vehicle it was in , when i told him it was aircraft and he said "we dont recommend our product for aircraft use" and hung up on me..

Sweet! So I assume you will use a haltech for this one also? Do the haltechs that you run in your aeroplane engines use dual MAP sensors with one being used for full time barometric readings/compensations?

wont be running haltech , we have actually used adaptronic for the last couple of years due to their plug and play ability to the g13b gti , although on this we will be running...........................................

most likely a home built megasquirt , because we want to experiment .. and its going to be a budget build , showcase what you can do for under 5 grand (labour excluded)

There is a whole following of light airplane for the G10 and G13 engines in USA/Canada. To them an all alloy OHC 4 stroke engine is a godsend for the small light planes.

Haha thanks for the plug on our website Santos. We have been building aircraft engines since 2004. None have crashed yet . Well at least to.my knowledge . Hehe
