I been trying to find a place that has key blanks for the Sierra. The local bunnings, hardware, and shopping centre didn't have the right blanks.

I went to the Locksmiths only to find they have closed down.

So I went back to the hardware shop, (cause I know the owner reasonably well) and searched through his collection.

Found that a Hyundai key matched. (HYN10)

Also found a GM key, but the head of the key has to be ground a bit, as it wouldn't allow the key to be removed from the ignition.

my apprentice used to have a holden gemini, and my sierra key would unlock his doors and start the ignition! The keys were almost identical - his didnt work on my sierra though.

That would have more to do with a stuffed tumbler in the gemi then matching keys My old Navara you could push the centre part in and turn it with your finger to start it up.

yeah for sure - but holding the keys next to each other they were also very close.

Tried Bunnings a couple times, over the last month or so.
They had Suzi keys, but they will only match the code, so if they don't have THAT code blank, they turn ya away.

I should have said in the OP, that I wanted to get a spare actually cut, not just get a blank. finding the blank was the hard part.(wasn't trying to make a bump key for a zook!)
Coulda bought an ebay one, but was trying to go local..

yeah, and we all know a dipstick will start an early Falcon...

The NT and WT key profile is different, not sure what the go with the coily is, but as per every other part of a Sierra, nothing fits a coily

Now that I have my keys back, I can post the codes...

The "original" key, which is a copy, is SZ12
The Hyundai key is (as above) a HYN10,
and the GM key is a GM11, but as I said, the corners of the key head have to be ground to clear the ignition bezel.
