hey guys. im keen to make my zook more stable and controllable instead of the old big tyres heaps of lift and flex thing. i dont go offroad to the point where i need flex so there is no point. im wondering, should i ditch my 2 inch lift or keep it or put body lift....im not going to run bigger tyres than 235/75/15. any help would ease my mind. thanks heaps.

leave your suspension how it is, for a coily it is a perfect no issues setup, body lift some guard massaging and maybe extended bumpstops and your in 31's territory. and then if you want to go bigger it is more gaurd mods. there is no point at all to taking the 2 inch out, especially since coilies are lower to start off with

true true. my car isnt exactly stable though thats what i want to change. it has heaps of body roll and three wheels around corners in second gear pretty steady isnt a big shock haha. new back shocks might make it a bit firmer i think but what else can i do.

new shocks and get some wider offset rims.

are you talking stable as in side slopes or hooning on the road?

nah not even. we have a lot of forestry roads here and they are good tracks but doesnt feel all that safe with body roll.

does anyone know much about ultima shocks. i can get a rear set for mine for 110 with 3 year warranty. cant be that bad can they?

Looks like you've got a rock stock Sierra judging by the photo's. If you don't want as much bodyroll, make sure your shocks are in good condition, and if your car has had the sway bar removed, put it back on. My car handled like it was on rails when I first got it. I was really suprised at the lack of bodyroll. Failing that, get a heavy duty suspension. Bear in mind though, heavy duty in Sierra language means bone jarring.

what suspension kit do you have?
ultima is pretty much the only complete suspension kit for the coilys.
when i first got mine, i was told it had a 2" lift from pedders.
the front struts were standard from factory with slightly taller coils and the rear had 40mm lifted coils and shocks.

check the bushes in the radial arms to see if they are still good.

thanks heaps for all the info. yeh it has the sway bar and i went for a decent wheel in mt mee today and i was just whinging i think. i will just drive it like a suzuki on the road haha. i have pedders extended front struts cause i just got new ones and 2inch coils and pedders confort gas back shocks (pretty sure i need new ones). im getting the ultima extended travel shocks for the back next week so ill let you know how they go.
