as you know i have a stock lwb ute.
If i was to replace the shocks and swaybar. What is the best option with a budget in mind. .?
At this point we're looking at very little off-roading. .

monroe gas shocks were great in mine when i only had stock springs and as for swaybar just take it off. it allows the front end to flow a lot better even over small stuff like gutters

What would a set front n back be worth of the monreo you think?

nah i have no idea what the monroes are worth, the guy i bought it off said here take these, as we were about to drive away. it improved the ride a lot and was worth what i paid .

most people take the swaybar off because it lets the front end flex when offroad and the general consensus is that the suzuki ones do not help with body roll. Take it off and take it for a drive, if it feels better and you dont mind how it corners keep it off, if after you drive it you feel it is better on just chuck it back on. It is only 4 bolts and is worth a try.

Yeah for sure.. Ill give that a bash tomoz..
Trying to suss cheaper options for the time being..shocks wise.. ill get new lift and suspension when ive got cash coming in again..
Think most of the stuff on it has to be still the original gear..
Feels like it is in anycase..

the feel of a brick slapping on a wall? yeah that would be the standard stuff. it doesnt cost a heap to change the suspension over. mine was only around $650 and it is a pretty good set up and has changed the car beyond comparison ride quality wise

I just started up my own business, so haven't taken a pay cheque in about 6weeks..

Just found the attached in the garage.. They look pretty old, but are brand new.. Would these be the right type?
(ie - they must of been purchase a long time ago, but are New in terms of use)

Just done some reading up, Think these must of come from my old mans place, He has an old Falcon 500 - I did wonder..

From the looks they are for Rear Ford Use..

they won't bolt into yours and are probly a bit to long for standard setup. The front and the rear of the sierra is eye to eye. I would be looking into a 4x4 shock but as a standard replacement, something that was designed for the sierra. Everyone who puts commodore shocks and stuff like that it have only travel in mind so they don't mind if the ride is not great. Because your keeping yours standard there are more options for shocks suited to your car so you should be able to find some nice Old Man Emu or something that which will improve your cars driving feel and what not.

pedders would be okay, but for a standard shock i might go visit arb and try to get them to give you a good deal on some old man emu shocks. when they quote just say can you do me a better price, and see what happens. I wouldn't put monroe on any of my cars.. supercheap don't stock much good stuff...

the front of sierra's are a pin to eye configuration not eye to eye. check out ARB, and then go to pedders and a couple of other suspension places. the cheapeast may not be the best and you might just end up with a replica of what you got.
