I have 4 inch total and have 33s and mine is proberbly considered to much lift. would you recommend i just get some of those 6" calmini springs instead? and yes im being sarcastic. Haha I actually do have calmini springs On the off chance that you aren't trolling This is approximately 2.5 inch springs, 1 inch shackles and 1 inch body lift. Fits 33s with the only issue being the rear fuel filler, easly sorted with a hose clamp. sweet im only doing SPOA so i dont need to worry about spring and shackle lifts and because ive got it all there ready to go pretty much... Nice clearance on yours shep no i wasnt trolling, i was being sarcastic but lols @ the other trolls on here Also i came across the same problem as you when i did the 2 inch body lift to my old zook (yet to put it into the new one) i wondered why i was getting fuel smells inside the car when i had a fullish tank and took left hands turns! lol fuel was gushing up the filler hose, and into the back of my car! hehe... not good.

Nope fuel issue isn't from body lift, it is from trying to stuff a tyre that is 7 inchs wider and 7 inchs taller then standerd into a small wheel arch. The filler tube thing needs to be pulled in tight to the chassis and this is with diffs that have the wheel mount face aprox 100mm wider then the stock diff. Fitting 33s to a Sierra is like fitting 40s to a 75 cruiser and that is without taking gearing into consideration. Gearing is the most critical part of fitting bigger tyres. I have 28inch tyres on my swb Sierra and even with a motor with twice the power of a stock motor it struggles in the bush when trying to crawl stuff.

crawling is all related to your gears shep.... the first weekend i owned the hard top sierra im wrecking.... i took it out to menai! white rock... and yea... that showed me the limitations of the sierra! diff drag in mud.... too high gearing even in low range... etc etc.. The first time i EVER went to menai/white rock i was in a 4x2 ford courier so good ground clearance but still 2wd... i almost did some silly stuff in that glad i didnt.... when i went out there in the hard top sierra.... i got so bogged it took a landcruiser troop carrier + winch + pulley + air lockers in the landcruiser to pull me out!! and about another hour to get the sierra started again.... it steamed out water and smoke and all sorts of stuff the entire way home and i was removing menai mud from EVERY part of the car for 3 years afterwards lol And for those who say "your kidding yourself" or... "it cant be done" or... "why bother"..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-XgSV3CO9A <--- busa motor in a zook

Cool! I reckon you should take your zook out on a trip with SierraDan or 31zook. Sounds like your zook is a bit of a hidden weapon and you must be a pretty good driver by the sounds of it!

I started building up a rear bar last night, 4mm/70mmx70mm square tube, just got to drill the holes for the pivot pins for the two spare tyre holders so they can fold out... and ive got some C channel side capping to weld on one side of the bar but i need some more for the other side... and then some LED tail lights to bolt on and im extending the bar out by about 100mm's so i can fit a high lift jack and maybe even a jerry can in there if theres room

Spoa can work well , but be prepared to have a few naps Heh a few naps??? A busa powered zook has everything to do with what im doing... because at the end of the day im going to replace the tired old 1.3 SOHC with either a vit 1.6 at the minimum, or preferably a VW 1.9 TDI... and i didnt even realise the busa motor might be a choice for a non roadworthy car... i guess.. it could be engineered if i had enough money but yea I do remember seeing a smart car with a busa motor in it, Ghostriders 500hp busa motor in a zook light and powereful, but way too many rpm's.... I did see in that busa/zook video they run two gearbox's.... the bike gearbox and another... to get the gearing down low enough...

Nah thats about the only part I agree with, there is that many threads on here and elsewhere with people having a sook about how their Lockright tried to kill them whilst on road, doing it this way means you are still dual locked but with better on road handling.

you'll have to convert to LHD for the calmini kit.

Anyhooo, back to original topic, Suzifour Wreckers in Dunheved, Sydney currently have a Sierra Classic complete with the screaming eagle decal, but there is no limited edition badge on the dash, just a normal "Sierra" badge. Still some worthwile bits left on it.

I might have to go to brisbane or melbourne for rego, but thats not an issue. Ive got a good mate who is a certified vehicle engineer... and another mate of a mate who does drag car engineers certificates etc... rat rods... So i have plenty of people to consult with to pass relevant ADR's etc... Oh yea, i havent mentioned my amphibious road registered car idea yet have i? but its not a zook... but i was thinking about doing something along the lines of this : The PTO from the transfer case doesnt look too difficult to do! the most difficult part i can see from that idea is waterproofing the drive train sufficiently... Oh yea, did anyone here realise that garden hose makes a perfect diff breather hose extension for the sierra???? i did

if your mates are any good at what they do, surely they'd be able to pass it all in NSW... i'm sure SPOA is a no-no in every state now so you might be out of luck in trying to dodge the system. the garden hose is a common mod, but i'd avoid using it for bong tubing after having oil vapour in it... tends to make the green taste a bit funny. still not sure if you're serous or seriously trolling

Mate you need to slow down a bit, or stop trolling if you are.
Everything you've brought up as a great idea has been discussed, tried, tested, refined and given up on by many people with a lot more experience in Sierras than you many times before.
The only thing stopping people telling you how silly some of your ideas are is the shadow of anyone being nasty getting banned of late.
Now every Sierra underneath is the same, what works on one works on the next and there are some pretty well honed setups out there that will work for whatever you want it to do, might I suggest you get to reading through good tech and the rigs section and get an idea of what works for everyone and build your plans from that.
In the meantime, Sierras are also embarrassingly good standard, get out there, let the tyres down, lock the hubs and drive the wheels off it, only then will you get an understanding of what needs improving for you and your style of driving and terrain
