Just wondering if i add a small led light into a switch circuit in series on a postive wire between the battery and switch in the right polarity will it: 1- Work 2- Only come on when the switch is on.

what you have written is confusing
is the led light after the switch? if its across the switch the led will always be on as most likely will be the circuit to an extent. just at a restricted current and lower voltage.
if you want the led to come on when the switch is turned on but not drop the voltage of the remainder of the circuit.
you will need to have positive coming into switch other side of switch have 2 connections one for the led and another for the circuit. but earth the led right after don't put it in series to the circuit, put it in parallel just after the switch, that way the switch will still work and turn the led on but not effect the original circuit.

I was just reading a very detailed explanation with wiring diagrams and all last night... You may want to have a look in the tech forum if I remember right...
