Picked up the head yeterday inc the remainder of the vrs kit. Went to install his arv but have a concern with the head gasket.

My motor is a G13BA and vrs kit is G13A. Everything lines up bar the oil port above the waterpump.

First pic shows bare head above water pump and second pic with gasket on. You can see the gasket covers the majority of the oil port on the he head.




My question is, is this gasket correct for my motor or do I have to purchase a new head gasket.

I would use a holepunch (or sharpened bit of pipe), perhaps a stanley knife and open it up a little.
As long as you don't fold any material over, or tear it to another hole, it will be fine.

When u say open it a little, are u able to be a bit more specific.

Open it up ===> Enlarge the hole so its bigger and doesn't restrict the hole so much.
Sit it on the block and carefully open it up with a stanley knife etc.. doesn't need to be round, or full sized (note most other holes are all undersized compared to the passages in the block).

Or pencil where you need to punch, and punch it carefully.

Make sure you don't tear/split it (tearing to water jacket or to outer edge would ruin it).
If it tore to the locating dowel (where head bolt goes) it wouldn't matter too much.

Don't punch it whilst it's on the block
And if you use the Stanley knife, don't gouge or bur the block etc while cutting.

That's just another oil drain hole from the head to sump I believe. Shouldn't be much of an issue.

No way id be cutting a headgasket to fit an engine it wasnt designed for.
