My 01 GV has the standard factory rims and im looking to upgrade the tires (and maybe fit internal bead locks, only cause I work in a tyre shop that can get them wholesale ) Want to go to steel sunrasia rims like I had on the sierra (strong as shit and drama free) but cause of the calipers at the front they need to be a fairly big offset. What do I need? Anyone else done this to thier GV and got any advice?

p.s I will be keeping the factory rims with road tyres on them for daily driving

Run 17's. They'll clear no matter what the offset is.

i don't think a 15x7 -13 is going to work on a GV without grinding the calipers

15 inch definatly wont work on the front :p Fatz, I wouldn't mind going to the 17's but you cant get tubes for the fuckers, and I want to keep as much sidewall rubber as possible, hence sticking with 16's. Might have to go for a spin and talk some shit with a wholesaler that I deal with and see if he can sort it out for me. Didn't realise that GV drivers didn't use non factory steel rims!! fucken tight arses

Ive tries 16 inch sunnies with -11 ofset and they dont fit. I think by the time you get a rim with enough offset to clear the caliper the tyres will be a long way outside the guards.

Did a bit of research on that topic and came accross sunrasia as the only ones that could give an alertanative. Sadly it seems that a 15" for LWB GV is imposible due to the front calipers.
The SWB GV seems to be ok though, as I found that guy has :

noffin to do with tightasses bohuler, some vit's wear very nice 16" enkei made wheels which cost a small 4tune! unless you go rockbashing there is no need 4 steel rims.
most of them look pretty damn average!
plenty rubber available in 16" and most manuf. release more an more sizes..

maxxis bighorn just released it's 225/75/16 and 9 available in warehouse. container on it's way to OZ.

Dont know about sunrasia but i know that king rims a week and bend lips easy
A good alloy is heaps stronger then a steel rim and might be easier to find a 16 from the states
