Dont really want to be going out with no recovery points :S What if I take them to get welded to the Chassis? would that work? cant cost too much to get them welded, cheaper than a bar for now?

other wise the load would be to local and would prob just rip out.

Yep, what Mitch said.

If you weld it not only are you still relying on the thin steel wall of the chassis, but welding can actually create weak/brittle points because of the heat.

Take it where-ever you would take it to get welded - won't cost much more for them to weld on say some 5mm plate that you can then drill through. Something like the pic above. Then you're spreading the load over a much bigger area than a couple of bolt holes, and using the structure of the chassis tube for strength as well.

Sooo, take to a welder and ask to weld a 5mm plate along the chassis ( just one or two sides?) and that should then be sufficient to bolt through a recovery point! Shouldn't cost much?

I asked about having a tube front bar made to incorporate a point and a rear bar, quoted $1150 for front and $2250 for the back.... i think that can wait hahaha

yeah pretty much it, if you want to make it easier- get them to drill a hole all the way through to chassis and then weld in a crush tube, then fish plate over that. That way, you can easily put a nut and bolt through instead of trying to fiddle getting a nut on, in the middle of the chassis rails.

Got ya! just have to get looking at where i can get it welded on the cheap haha!
