Hi all,

I had not noticed this when i first got the car, but it appears that the holden drover passneger seat does not go forwards and backwards. Only reclines.

This is a bit of a drama as the wife is quite tall, and its a bit cramped.

Is this a narrow track sierra thing? or is this a holden drover thing?

I intend on putting some different seats in in the future (prolly some GC8 wrx seats), but in the mean time it would be nice to push the passenger seat back a bit.

Does anyone know of an easy option here? can i just get a seat from a different suzuki sierra that goes back and fowards and bolt it in?

If not im considering getting some steel angle (maybe 30*30*5x~500mm) long one for each side, bolting the seat to these, then bolting these to the chassis. offsetting the mounting bolts by ~50-100mm to sit the seat back in the car (exact dimension pending wife approval). This option should be pretty easy, hacksaw, drill, bolt, done. i think id have to use 12mm gr12.8 bolts (Same as standard), so that would a 14mm hole, i think ive got a 14mm drill bit!!

Anyone see a drama with this idea?

Remmeber this is only for the passenger seat, driver seat is no worries.

I havent pulled the seat out yet, but an initial look this morning it looked like a viable option. The bottom of the the seat rail looked like it sat flat on the chassis, so it looked like i could just slide it back a bit on my formetioned steel angle. This would raise the seat by the thickness of the steel (~5mm), but thats not a big deal, i has a high top ;)

They should slide, unless you have a rat trap style mount on the passengers side. AFAIK, all SWB sierra/ drovers have slides except for the tin top ute, and early 1L ( rat trap).

Don't make your own mounts. Its frought with danger.

Any passengers side 1.3L seat mount should bolt straight in.

Why is it frought with danger? I made my own mount for a recaro into my old corolla, got a modification plate for it no worries.

I will have another look, it didnt look like it slid. perhaps the lever has been broken/removed. what is "rat trap" style?
