i'm guessing everything was still moist after the blasting you gave it & it's taken a while to hit that dry spell.  what i did with mine is always give the probes a good clean with silicone spray & clean up the coil packs so they're spotlessly clean. then around the top lip give it a smear of rubber grease or vasaline to try & stop the water getting in the hole. the other thing i found was positioning the little breather hole so it's sitting hidden under the coil pack inline with where the loom plugs attach so there was less chance of the plug hole becoming moist.

I'm thinking I have done the same thing, mine started to sputter after my wash too, I was thinking it was my
Cam sensor again... Hopefully mine just dries out too

Myn has pretty much gone, only noticed it while taking it for a drive last night and it started jittering a little bit about 5 mins into driving it then it stopped again

maybe give it a good 48 hours! i warmed the engine up then took out the spark plugs to let the heat evaporate what it could, some one mentioned WD40 to help the evaporation too!

Problem came back again yesterday when I was dropping my daughter off at day care, so after work I had another look under the bonnet and noticed a new oil leak from the tappet cover which I only just replaced the gasket around 2 months ago so I pulled the pcv valve out and it was full of crud, bit of wd40
And compressed air now she is running like a dream

yea thats wat i thought but a price difference like that on 'similar' items usually means the cheaper one has something wrong, that and also it says it doesn't fit a 1997 tracker (as amazon likes)
I got the cheaper one...see how that goes...

Bumpety Bump...
I found uber shity rusty shit in and on my spark plugs and wells in my J20 GV (some nuffy maybe forgot to tighten the bolts on the coil packs 6 months ago when I last looked at teh plugs....) when putting new plugs in yesterday.
What is the best way to remove the rust from the wells and is it nessesary to remove the rust??

Definitely clean it out, maybe a small brush head on the end of a drill, the stuff that resembles scotchbrite, cant remember what its called, im sure someone's done it before and can comment!
While we're here, would it be a good idea to put a tiny sliver of RTV around the tops of the wells to prevent water and crud getting in there in the first place?
Maybe even some grease if you're removing them frequently.

i used rubber grease around the seal & a coat of silicone spray on the stem. the top section has a nice seal on it & there is a built in breather tube in the rubber probe so you can't seal it up 100%
looks like even after all those months there is still moisture in the plug wells, i'm guessing it got a good pressure clean after the mud racing incident?
