What's the triks to line up splines when bolting up an uto to a g16b?

Yeah been doing that, just doesn't seem to wanna go together

put the convertor in the auto and get it all the way in by hand

then bolt it to the box and bolt the convertor to the flex plate

if you bolt the convertor to the flex plate and then try and seat it into the box while offering it up to the engine you will damage things, its been done here several times already

Thanks Royce, I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for, it's all bolted up now,

I dont reckon you would of found it as the threads were along the lines of just put a new engine in and my gearbox is making bad noises, or its spewing oil out everywhere or it all just went bang

X2. Convertor ALWAYS gous onto the input spline of the auto first.

Is that also for when you have the box still in the car and put the engine in?

yep, always put the convertor into the auto first, its why its so easy to bolt it to the flex plate after the engine is bolted in

plus if you leave the convertor in when you pull them apart, you dont get a whole heap of oil everywhere

When you pull the converter off the input it pours oil out

Always leave the converter on the input shaft. Undo the bolts from the flex plate when removing the motor.
