hay guys, i have a 94 lwd vitara and im just after some ideas were you have mounted your uhf if you dont have a bulbar? i no you can get them brackets that come out the side or front of your bonnet but cant see many good spots to actually mount it, my old sierra bonnet was a different design to the vit and was easier to mount, pics of were you mounted your uhf would be great

Mine have been mounted in the spare wheel bracket, sure it's not the best position for reception but I'm not in the desert & need 1 billion kms range, it's well protected + it looks like an r/c car.

I've looked over my Zook looking for a spot to mount mine, and come to the same conclusion, spare wheel bracket is the go!

here is mine. used a tie down strap to fit it to the rear spare wheel. the cable goes through underneath rhe near door to my inside of my car.


I glued the cable with mirror silicone. just make sure you make sure the contact points are very good to the contacts of the antenna's connection that is gona sit on the back door so it dont vibrate loose like on gravel road.

I just fabicated a little S bracket that piggybacks onto a bolt and thread already underneat
Favourite part is that it'doesnt obstruct any vision where it sits, and don't have an ugly antenna in the middle of any videos/photos from inside the cabin. Also sits right above the grommet through the firewall

thanks for the idears guys any one actually mounted one on the front of a vitara that they have a pic of? id rather have it at the front of the car as i dont really want to mount it on the spare wheel.

I just used a bit of flatbar straight out the side of the raised section at the back of the bonnet mate. Picked up an existing bolt hole that was already there plus used a couple of extra tek screws on the top of the guard (would use rivnuts/bolts these days ) to stop it from swivelling.

Worked perfectly, never moved even with bashing the aerial on overgrown tracks.

i like that idear as it just looks better at the front of the car i reckon, you dont have a close up of the bracket do you?

I have seen people buy those $30 Super Cheap Auto Spot light brackets that mount over your number plate and use that ??
