Hi,

Anyone painted their floor/footwell with a non slip type paint? Was thinking about ute tray liner but its pretty exxy, saw some non-slip paint for metal stairs a bit better priced.

Years ago i had a Ford Sierra (google it) back in the UK that was used in a banger rally across Europe, we stripped it out of all unnecessary weight and painted the floor with a mixture of black paint with a handful or two of coarse sand mixed into it. Worked really well. Not sure how long it would work for mind you, as the car did the rally then we sold it on to another team doing another rally.

Get one of those rubber deep dish floor mats! I've had them in all my 4wds. After a day out just pull it out and hit it with the hose.

Cheers, we thought about similar but chopping up rubber in my drop saw and adding it.

You can buy paint designed for ute trays and hard wearing areas, should be plenty about it on web, maybe even utube how to do's.

Another trick is to put a fat coat of a hard paint like urethane down and sprinkle coffee sugar over it.
Leave to dry then hit with a hose.
The sugar gets dissolved and washed away but the texture remains in the paint.
Commonly used on boats for step treads.

When i did epoxy floors we use to roll the floor
Sprinkle garnet over it and roll it again

Thats the thing I was originally looking for but $300 DIY Herculiner kit.
Seton have some black non-slip paint for metal stairs $140/4l might give that a try, should be hard wearing enough anyway

Like want 33s and got_bar_work say, get some good patio (hard wearing paint) and sprinke with garnet or sugar, sand is also commonly used.

On boats I use sand, paint, let dry, paint again and while wet, sprinkle sand over the paint.

This works a treat, as does garnet or big sugar crystals, far far better than any (non slip) crap out there.

All I plan to do is mix some non slip grit into storm of my concrete sealer (acrylic) and use it, can do multiple Coates untill the desired non slippyness

Grip tape is good. We use it for our stairs at work for safety purposes

just piant it and than stick down some skate board grip tape.
