I have a plastic one downstairs in a race buggy project was thinking of using it on the next one and making an aluminium frame too to try and limit the weight a bit

pedal system might need a cross brace lower down, with a bit of enthusiastic heel and toe-ing and mashing of brakes I reckon you will tear the plastic pedal mounting plate away from the tek screws that secure it.
